Life University offers the MSPP with two tracks: General Positive Psychology and Coaching Psychology. The MSPP is a fully accredited, one-of-a-kind online degree program. In fact, it is one of only a handful of such highly sought-after programs in the entire world. The MSPP at Life University investigates strengths-based research that enable individuals and communities to thrive. It is focused on the study of flourishing and positive human functioning, in particular key areas such as meaning in life and cultivating what is best within themselves like gratitude, compassion and forgiveness.

New for Fall 2023

The Coaching Psychology Track has been expanded to 57 Credit Hours to represent new International Coaching Federation Coach Education guidelines. As a Level 1 and Level 2 education provider, successful graduates can more easily apply for Associate Certified Coach (ACC) and Professional Certified Coach (PCC) designations after completing the program. In addition to the Board Certified Coach designation offered through the Center for Credentialing and Education.

The Master of Science in Positive Psychology (MSPP) degree program is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC). The Coaching Psychology Track is further designated by the International Coaching Federation (ICF) as an Accredited Coach Education provider at Level 1 (ACC – Associate Certified Coach) and Level 2 (PCC – Professional Certified Coach) and an approved Board-Certified Coach (BCC) training provider through the Center for Credentialing and Education.

Students will earn a Master of Science in Positive Psychology (MSPP) degree. It is a 5 quarter, full-time professional, 57-credit hour program. Students may enter the MSPP with no or minimal knowledge or experience in positive or coaching psychology. However, after graduating from the program, coachingtrack students would meet the minimal requirements to sit for ICF and CCE coaching certification examinations. Additionally, students may continue their education along the psychology path toward a PhD or PsyD. Students should refer to the college catalog for graduation requirements.

Learning Environment

Our MSPP program offers two innovative paths. Depending on specific interests, students can choose to specialize in:

General Track – The General Track is a 4-quarter program where students develop skills in evaluation, assessment and a variety of other modalities. Students will apply psychological knowledge from various frameworks and interventions (e.g., theoretical, empirical, exp/eriential and vitalistic models) to a wide variety of human experiences.

Coaching Psychology Track – The Coaching Psychology Track is a 5-quarter program that is designed around an integrated approach to Positive Psychology that draws from the richness of ancient traditions, yet is based on modern scientific research methods and best practices. Graduates of this program will have key theoretical understandings and the core skills necessary to work as a professional coach in a variety of settings.

The Life University Coaching Psychology program is a Center for Credentialing & Education (CCE) and an Approved Board Certified Coach (BCC) training provider.
