EMERGENCY SUPPORT SERVICES

The following agencies will provide services as described in this plan.  In addition, these agencies shall be provided with access to the facilities for the purpose of familiarizing themselves with the layout and locations.
 
Public Safety Department

The primary role of the Public Safety Department during an emergency situation is to secure the area and maintain site control as requested by the Emergency Coordinator or appropriate outside agencies.

Marietta Police Department

The Marietta Police Department will be called in all events when a potentially threatening situation is witnessed, or in the event that Public Safety Officers need assistance in responding to or managing an on-going situation on Campus property.

Fire Department

The Marietta Fire Department will be called in the event of an emergency occurring which involves fire and/or hazardous materials, and requires outside assistance.

Upon arrival of the Fire Department at the scene, the Senior Fire Officer shall assume control.  The Fire Department shall also assume the responsibility for ordering further evacuation of the area as appropriate.  The Emergency Coordinator would stand by to provide information regarding the individual, facility or hazardous material involved, as well as any additional assistance available.

Upon control of the situation, the Senior Fire Officer shall notify the Emergency Coordinator.

Hospital and Emergency Medical Services (EMS)

In the event of an emergency situation, the emergency room at Kennestone Hospital shall be contacted, and notified of the situation.  Kennestone Hospital has personnel and facilities equipped to treat injuries including decontamination for chemical or radiological exposures.

EMS shall be accessed through Public Safety.  These personnel shall take direction from the Emergency Coordinator or Fire Department Incident Commander who is in charge of the scene.
