The 2010 National Chiropractic Legislative Conference (NCLC) with the Chiropractic Summit will be held February 24-27
NCLC is the chiropractic profession's most important public policy and educational event. During the meeting, hundreds of doctors of chiropractic and students from across the country will meet with members of Congress and advocate for issues that matter most to them and their patients. At this year's NCLC, participants are expected to hear the latest news regarding national health care and Medicare reform. In addition, they will receive special guidance on how to increase the profession's grassroots presence in Washington. The Chiropractic Summit, which represents the leadership of the chiropractic profession working cooperatively on issues affecting DCs, will also meet during NCLC this year to discuss strategies related to health care reform.
KEYNOTE SPEAKERS
Former U.S. House Majority Leader Richard Gephardt and Brig. Gen. Becky Halstead will deliver the keynote speeches at the 2010 National Chiropractic Legislative Conference (NCLC), Feb. 24-27 in Washington, D.C.
Gephardt, one of Washington's most respected and well-known political figures, served as the congressman of Missouri's 3rd congressional district for 28 years and helped to pass landmark reforms to health care, pensions, education, energy independence and trade policy. Today, he heads Gephardt Government Affairs, a political consulting firm that has been working with ACA since October to promote the inclusion of pro-chiropractic provisions in national health care reform bills.
Brig. Gen. Becky Halstead (retired), the first female general to command troops in Iraq and Afghanistan, and a spokesperson for the Foundation for Chiropractic Progress, has had personal experiences with chiropractic and is an advocate for the importance of access to chiropractic for all military servicemen and women.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
This event is specifically geared to ALL members of the chiropractic community. All who attend the convention will receive complimentary conference materials, a lobby kit, exclusive updates from top chiropractic lobbyists and the chance to meet and network with Members of Congress.

Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson went on a camping trip. After a good meal, they each retired for the night, and went to sleep.
Some hours later, Holmes awoke and nudged his friend awake.
"Watson, look up at the sky, and tell me what you see."
Watson replied, "I see millions and millions of stars."
"What does that tell you?" Holmes questioned.
Watson pondered for a minute and then said, "Astronomically, it tells me that there
are millions of galaxies and potentially billions of planets.
Astrologically, I observe that Saturn is in Leo. Horologically, I
deduce that the time is approximately a quarter past three.
Theologically, I can see that God is all powerful and that we are small
and insignificant. Meteorologically, I suspect that we will have a
beautiful day tomorrow. What does it tell you?"
Holmes was silent for a minute, then spoke. "Watson, you idiot, someone
has stolen our tent."
