Provost Brian McAulay Named ACE FellowDr. Brian J. McAulay, Life University Provost, has been selected a Fellow of the American Council on Education (ACE), one of only 36 such prestigious positions named each year, President Guy Riekeman announced. “This is not only a first for Life University, but also the first time anyone associated with chiropractic education has been so honored,” President Riekeman said. “The American Council on Education is one of the largest, oldest and most prestigious educational organizations in the world, representing most of higher education in the United States. “Life University is rightfully proud of Dr. McAulay, and I’m sure all in the Life community will want to extend him our congratulations.” The ACE Fellows Program, established in 1965, is intended to build up leadership in American higher education by preparing promising senior faculty and administrators for responsible positions in college and university administration. Fellows spend up to a year on sabbatical from their institutions learning and working on projects that they can bring back to strengthen their respective colleges and universities. “Dr. McAulay and I are currently working to select the institution where he will spend his Fellowship time and will design a project for him to work on and bring back to Life University. I anticipate that he will be away from campus beginning in January 2009 for six to nine months. During that time he will continue to work on the CCE Standards Committee and other professional commitments critical to Life’s future,” Dr. Riekeman said. “I am extremely proud of Dr. McAulay both as a friend and colleague. It is another reflection of the leadership that has been attracted to Life University and the role we are playing in shaping the future of education, vitalistic health care policy and world opinion on issues critical to our view of humanity and the social framework in which we live,” Dr. Riekeman said.
