Wellness Center Gets New Year’s Renovation
Renovations include the remodeling of the individual fitness classrooms, installation of wide-screen televisions, a new room for spinning classes, additional treadmills, recumbent and upright bikes and dumbbells. Personal trainers are available for hour-long sessions. Students pay $10 per session following the first free visit, and staff and faculty pay $20 per session after their first free visit. The Wellness Center offers free classes instructed by experienced Life University students. Classes include ballroom dancing, salsa, spinning, yoga and pilates. For class descriptions and a class schedule, visit the Wellness Center section at www.life.edu. “I try to take full advantage of the opportunities here on campus. I enjoy working out in the Wellness Center, and the recent renovations have made me excited to finish up the work day and go straight there,” said Brandy Killian, Life University special events planner.
“The Wellness Center is comparable to any of the top fitness clubs in the area, except we don’t have to pay the cost that others charge,” said Anais Maristany, 11th quarter DC student and personal trainer at the Wellness Center. “It’s a fun, social environment and a great feature to the campus atmosphere.”
