Employment in computer and data processing services, which provides prepackaged and specialized software, data and computer systems design and management, and computer-related consulting services, is projected to grow by 86% between 2000 and 2010, ranking as the fastest growing industry in the economy.

Computer occupations are expected to grow the fastest over the projection period. In fact, these jobs account for 8 out of the 20 fastest growing occupations in the economy. Computer jobs are expected to require 1.9 million new employees by 2010.

Degree Requirements

Students acquiring the Associate of Science degree in Computer Information Management will first complete 50 credit hours in the General Curriculum as follows:

  1. Completion of at least two years of prescribed study, of which the last year must be in residence at Life University, with at least 25 credit hours of business courses being earned in the last year of residency.
  2. Satisfactory completion of all Business Core courses with a minimum grade of “C.”
  3. Satisfactory completion of all Computer Information Management courses with a minimum grade of “C.”
  4. Satisfactory completion of all courses with a minimum overall cumulative GPA of 2.00.
  5. A recommendation for graduation and completion of an exit interview with Department of Management faculty.
  6. Exit interviews with Financial Aid, Career Placement, and Accounting Counselors.
