The College of Graduate Studies
The mission of the Life University College of Graduate Studies (LUCGS) is to educate and mentor skilled and knowledgeable graduates in sports health science and rehabilitation who embody the roles of scholars, teachers and professionals, using the core life proficiencies as their foundation.
Objectives
The Department of Sport Health Science has set the following objectives:
- Provide a curriculum directly related to, and appropriate for, preparing students to practice in and contribute to the areas of exercise science, coaching, sport injury management and chiropractic sport science.
- Offer the highest quality academic programs by providing a qualified faculty.
- Provide an environment that supports and encourages scholarly interaction and accessibility among faculty and students.
- Conduct research related to athletics, exercise, and sport chiropractic, and to disseminate information obtained from this research at appropriate sport science, chiropractic, and health science meetings and in appropriate sport science, chiropractic and health-related journals.
- Provide students with opportunities for laboratory and field experiences in order to obtain practical experience needed for advancing their education and careers.
