Welcome to the Wellness Center!

I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to take advantage of the Life University Well ness Center. The staff and I look forward to your participation.  You will be welcomed with smiling faces and cheerful greetings.

We offer a large variety of fitness programs to meet the needs of the Life University Community. Our objectives are to:

  1. Provide each student with quality instruction and supervision in a personalized exercise program;
  2. Provide updated materials and activities related to health and fitness issues.

We have daily fitness classes offering different levels of intensity, all taught by our own students.  We also offer personal training for that one-on-one attention, including body fat testing, to help determine the starting point of your physical fitness level.  We are open 95 hours per week, seven days per week.

Our fitness center provides quality programs and services and on behalf of our entire staff, we appreciate the opportunity to welcome you to the Wellness Center.

The Life University Wellness Center offers a wide array of activities and fitness programs to meet the needs of all students, faculty and staff on campus. Fitness classes are held daily with differing levels of intensity that appeal to the many body types which exist today. Aerobics
The aerobic programs here at Life are designed to work every body part through a variety of class types, including: basic to advanced aerobics, step aerobics, Pilates and muscle toning, salsa, spinning and yoga. Classes are featured every day of the week with hours throughout the day to meet the most demanding of schedules.

Spinning
Spinning is a great cardiovascular and total body workout utilizing many major muscle groups. The 15 lb. variable tension front wheel enables you to control the intensity of your workout. Whether you are training for your health or for competition, our spinning classes will help you to achieve your goal.

Treadmills and Ellipticals
This cardiovascular workout is appropriate for anyone wishing to enhance their personal fitness level. We have machines available for use with two large viewable TV monitors featuring the CTN (MTVU College Television Network) on a continual basis, so boredom is just not an option.

Computerized Bicycles

There are recumbent and upright computerized bicycles here at the Wellness Center. You may choose to ride on level ground or follow a challenging and mountainous trail. Whichever bike you choose from, these cycles will offer you a wide array of options for your workout pleasure.

Weights

The Wellness Center is equipped with thousands of pounds of free-weights, Cybex, and Hammer strength weight machines. You'll work every body part twice with the amount of exercise equipment here. A muscular body awaits, so get started today!

Scenic Running Trails

The Wellness Center has 3.1 miles of walking and running trails that twist and turn through Life's beautiful campus woods and alongside Rottenwood Creek. The public trails start within the heart of the University campus adjacent to Life's 19th Century Village. The village setting is complemented by authentic old-world housing and a grist mill that uses the creeks flowing waters to turn its` water wheel. The village is well maintained and open to all. Free public tours are available upon request through Life's community relations department. As you pass through our quaint village, you enter the heavily treed and tranquil settings of our lush forest. You then safely follow along the comfortably wide trails and experience a feeling of serenity and calm while exercising. Organized wellness walks are also available to those who would like assistance with their workout program. Try a casual walk or enjoy a brisk run between classes, or even after your day ends. Whichever you choose, you are sure to enjoy the lush scenery available to you during your time on Life's charming trails. Pets are welcome to accompany you on the trails, but must be leashed at all times.
