Dietetics Internship

The Dietetic Internship program at Life University is a highly competitive and sought after program.

Obtaining a dietetic internship position is a competitive process administered through a national program that matches the most motivated and qualified students with internship opportunities across the country. Life University admits sixteen students annually to its Dietetic Internship Program.  

The Dietetic Internship at Life University is a 9-month (41 weeks/1640 hours of didactic (360 hours) and supervised practice experience (1200 hours) post baccalaureate program. The program provides interns with the necessary knowledge & skills to be eligible to sit for the national registration exam for dietitians and to pursue a variety of career opportunities in the field of dietetics. Up to sixteen interns can be admitted to the program, which starts the first week of September, and is completed by June of each year. The Dietetic Internship Program at Life University has two options to select from and they are as follows:

  • Non-Degree Option: The prospective interns opting for this track will be eligible for financial aid and the tuition is $6,500, however, the tuition may increase to $8,000 for 2013-2014.
  • Graduate Degree Option:
    • MS in Clinical Nutrition: The interns of the Life University Dietetic Internship Program have the opportunity to apply to the Master's Degree in Clinical Nutrition and receive 9-transfer credits from the Dietetic Internship Program toward completion of this degree.
    • MS in Sport Health Science: The interns of the Life University Dietetic Internship Program have the opportunity to apply to the Master's Degree in Sports Health Science with a concentration in nutrition and receive 16 credits from the Dietetic Internship Program toward completion of this degree (12 credits: for completion of the Dietetic Internship Program and 4 credits: for completion of Independent Study).
