Marie A. Powell is a full-time professor at Life University in the College of Graduate and Undergraduate Studies – Positive Human Develop and Social Change: Business Program. She created two courses in the business program: Entrepreneur and Social Change (how to create and develop a social change program) and Entrepreneur and Social Media (how to use social media to drive business to your online or on-ground business). She earned a MBA concentrating in Marketing from University of Phoenix and her B.A. in Clothing and Related Arts at Tuskegee University. She is a member of Toastmasters International, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and is very active in her community.
Currently, Powell is a volunteer marketing and business consultant to Boys2Men Home & Youth Sanctuary, Inc. – a 501c3 non-profit organization that supports young men ages 14-24 who have been incarcerated and have been released back into society. The goal of this non-profit organization to prevent recidivism through offering programs (soft skills) and educational certifications to help them re-engage into society as productive citizens. Professor Powell does small to mid-size marketing consulting concentrating in the areas of traditional marketing and non-traditional (social media) marketing focusing on the “baby boomer” target segment.
She is a trainer for mentees and their parents with the local branch of Susan Taylor’s (Past Editor of Essence Magazine) Cares Mentoring Program at Hillside Chapel International Truth Center, Atlanta, GA. Also, she is a senior mentor/life coach with Aiming High, Inc. (www.aiminghighinc.com), a transformational coaching program and marketing consultant to the Atlanta base division.
