Dr. Paula Billups to Present at ROTL at KSU
Dr. Paula Billups, Assistant Faculty in CGUS, will present at the Research on Teaching and Learning (ROTL) Summit at Kennesaw State University on Friday, October 18, 2019. The session that Dr. Billups will present is titled “Integrating Academic Skills with Life Skills.” She will present the results of a Life University funded research study of the same title.
In 2017, the Office of Sponsored Research and Activities (OSRSA) approved a qualitative research study in which Dr. Billups served as the principal investigator. The problem explored in the research study was the low retention rate for students in the undergraduate program. The purpose of the research was to identify reasons why undergraduate students may begin, but not complete, an undergraduate degree program at Life University. Students participating in the study were provided instruction on the The 7 Habits of Highly Effective College Students curriculum by Sean Covey. Research participants consisted of undergraduate students enrolled in transitional courses or other 100-level courses. The study commenced in January, 2018 and concluded in June, 2019.
