Tai Chi Training
The LIFE Center for Seniors (LCS) is partnering with the Wellness Center and Center for Chiropractic Research (CCR) to provide the LIFE community with an opportunity to participate in Tai Chi. Tai Chi will be held in the Wellness Center on Mondays from 11:00 a.m.-Noon, beginning Monday of Week 2 (October 8).
Tai Chi is a mind-body exercise that has been shown to improve muscle strength, flexibility, balance, aerobic fitness and cognitive performance. In addition to the class, the CCR is offering optional cognitive performance testing to those individuals taking the class. The tests can be taken at the beginning of the quarter and after you have completed the eight-week Tai Chi session. The cognitive tests are not for a research project; they are being provided as a service to the LIFE community and to help our team train on the new software. Your name will not be recorded.
If you are interested in participating in the class and would like to receive cognitive performance testing, please contact the CCR at Research@LIFE.edu.
