General Information for The LIFE University Fitness Center

Life University Fitness Center

@lifeuwellnesscente Facebook

We’ve missed you and know that you are ready to get back to exercising and building community within our facility.

During the closure, the Life University Fitness Center, formerly known as The Wellness Center, has taken on several new and exciting renovations. Some of these renovations include painting, big screen TVs, new lighting and vending machines for healthy snack options.

We have been working hard at replacing almost all the old equipment with new cardio and strength machines, as well as accessories that include dumbbells, barbells, kettlebells, jump ropes and much more.

We know that many of you are asking when we will be open. Your health and safety are our top priority, and we are working to be able to open responsibly as quickly as possible.

We look forward to seeing you all back in our facility soon and will announce a reopening date as soon as possible.

If you have any questions, we can be reached at

Specialty Classes

The aerobic programs here at LIFE are designed to work every body part through a variety of class types, including: basic to advanced aerobics, Zumba, Pilates and muscle toning, Boot Camp, spin and yoga. Classes are featured every day of the week with hours throughout the day to meet the most demanding of schedules.

Spinning is a great cardiovascular and total body workout utilizing many major muscle groups. The 15 lb. variable tension front wheel enables you to control the intensity of your workout. Whether you are training for your health or for competition, our spinning classes will help you achieve your goal.

Treadmills and Elliptical
This cardiovascular workout is appropriate for anyone wishing to enhance their personal fitness level. We have machines for use with four large viewable television monitors featuring satellite cable television on a continual basis, so boredom is just not an option.

Computerized Bicycles
There are recumbent and upright computerized bicycles here at the Wellness Center. You may choose to ride on level ground or follow a challenging and mountainous trail. Whichever bike you choose, these cycles will offer you a wide array of options for your workout pleasure.

The Wellness Center is equipped with thousands of pounds of free-weights, Cybex and Hammer strength weight machines. You’ll work every body part twice with the amount of exercise equipment here. So get started today!

Scenic Running Trails
Life University has 3.1 miles of walking and running trails that twist and turn through the beautiful campus woods and along Rottenwood Creek. The public trails start within the heart of the LIFE campus adjacent to the 19th Century Village. The village setting is complemented by authentic, old-world housing and a grist mill that uses the creek’s flowing waters to turn its water wheel. As you pass through the village and the waterfall, you enter heavily treed and tranquil settings of lush forest. Following comfortably wide trails you’ll experience a feeling of serenity and calm while exercising. Organized wellness walks are also available for those who would like assistance with their workout program. Try a casual walk or brisk run between classes or after your day ends. Pets are welcome to accompany you on the trails, but must be leashed at all times.
