Research Facilities and Equipment

Life University’s Office of Sponsored Research and Scholarly Activity (OSRSA) provides a centralized research facility that is adaptable according to specific study needs. Interchangeable exam rooms and open lab areas are available, in addition to a student work area, statistics office with SPSS and a conference room. Life University continues to invest in research equipment with high-impact research potential. Equipment such as the Zebris force plate treadmill, Dartfish motion capture software and Hologic Discovery A DXA unit are available for use in Institutional Review Board (IRB) approved research studies. For more information on the equipment available for use at Life University, please see our Blackboard course: OSRSA 101.

Training Programs

The OSRSA provides support to the LIFE Community through the development and presentation of diverse training programs designed to meet the needs of individuals with experience levels from basic to advanced. Training in equipment use, statistics, study design and research literature evaluation are key elements in the support structure provided by the faculty and staff of the OSRSA. Please contact LPaolucci@LIFE.edu to register for classes and training sessions. If needed, we can provide individual consultation services and can assist pulling together a tailored research team for you.

Compliance

Compliance with federal, state and agency rules and regulations is a continuous process. The OSRSA reviews, updates and adapts Life University research policies and procedures to remain in compliance with those entities. They provide research oversight or funding initiatives, such as foundation and government research grants. More information can be found on our Blackboard course: OSRSA 101.

Tracking

The OSRSA is responsible for tracking and reporting all research and scholarly endeavors conducted by our faculty, staff and students. As part of the tracking process, the OSRSA reports information back to administration and committees. These committees include the Faculty Development Committee, which is responsible for granting the bi-annual research awards, and Clinic Supervisors who provide the Clinic Excellence Award.

Grantsmanship

The grant process can be intimidating, but the OSRSA plays a key role in processing all research related pre/post-award grant compliance and funding elements. These services include locating grants, general grantsmanship training and individual grant assistance. The services are available to faculty, staff and students. For more information, please contact Dr. Stephanie Sullivan at Stephanie.Sullivan@LIFE.edu.
