How many hours per week are students permitted to work?

Students are permitted to work no more than 20 hours per week.

What is the screening process for on-campus student positions?

All on-campus screening opportunities require an interview and a drug screen. Off-campus community service opportunities require an additional background check.

What documents are required for the Federal I9 appointment?

In accordance with federal law, you will not be able to work unless you present to the employer the required identification and eligibility documents before working. You need to bring original, unexpired ID documents from this list to campus. You must present in person, either:

  • One document from List A (or combination documents for international students) OR
  • A combination of one document from List B and one from List C.

Note: Photocopies of documents will not be accepted.

Step 4: Complete New Hire Paperwork via DocuSign.
Step 5: Schedule Federal I9 appointment (with required Identification).
Step 6: Complete required drug screen.

Can I have more than one student position?

Students are permitted to work only one student position at a time. There are limited exceptions with approval.

What is the range in wages for on-campus student opportunities?

On-campus opportunities range from $9.50 per hour to $20 per hour.

How can I submit a request to increase or deny my Work-Study funding?

Students can submit this form to request an increase or decrease to their Work-Study funding.

I am an international student. Can I apply for an on-campus student position?

International students must work with the University’s International Coordinator to verify employment eligibility and obtain necessary employment documentation.
