Class Descriptions

  • Core Class – Core Class exercises engage key muscles in the abdomen and help you to strengthen your core. Examples include crunches, bicycle twists, planks and mountain climbers.
  • Full Body: Full Body relies on creative movements and is form focused. This class will challenge your body in an effective, safe and creative format. Each circuit is choreographed to work specific muscles building on strength to become stronger and more powerful. Light to medium weights.
  • Yoga: Yoga is a spiritual discipline based on an extremely subtle science, which focuses on bringing harmony between mind and body. It is an art and science of healthy living.
  • Power Yoga: Power Yoga is a fast-paced cardiovascular workout focused on building strength and flexibility in the body through high-impact yoga postures.
  • Spinning/Cycling:  This is a form of exercise with classes focusing on endurance, strength, intervals, high intensity (race days) and recovery, and it involves using a special stationary exercise bicycle with a weighted flywheel in a classroom setting.
  • Step Aerobics: Step aerobics is a classic cardio workout. The “step” is a 4-inch to 12-inch raised platform. You step up, around and down from the platform in different patterns to boost your heart rate and breathing and strengthen your muscles.
  • Stretching/Mobility: Class begins with a complete warm-up of the muscles and joints. Joint mobility exercise is conducted, along with light plyometricmovements to improve joint mobility, decrease stiffness and improves muscle flexibility.
  • HIIT/Recovery: The class involves repeated bouts of high intensity effort followed by varied recovery times. A well-rounded physical activity program includes aerobic exercise and strength training exercise, but not necessarily in the same session.
  • Meditation: The class is deliberate in the focusing of attention to bring about feelings of calm and heightened energy and awareness. Regular meditation offers many health benefits, such as reduced stress and anxiety.
  • Integrative Class: This class focusses on techniques and functional movements that will improve flexibility, muscular strength and posture.
  • Life University Seniors Class: The LCS seniors class provides a low-impact aerobic workout for all fitness levels. It’s designed to increase strength, range of motion and agility while making daily activities easier. A chair is used in the workout.
