Sports Chiropractic Track Overview
Where Principle Meets Performance.
Life University’s flagship Doctor of Chiropractic (D.C.) program now features a dedicated Sports Chiropractic track for students who want to apply clinical knowledge in high-performance environments. The D.C. Sports Chiropractic track (DCSC) bridges classroom learning with real-world application by providing access to athletes, performance data and on-field experience.
Through a curriculum grounded in neurology, movement science and hands-on care, students develop the skills to assess, support and optimize human performance. Rooted in Life University’s vitalistic philosophy, the DCSC prepares future chiropractors to deliver care that enhances how the body functions, moves and performs.
How the Track Works
Your Path Through DCSC.
You won’t just study Sports Chiropractic; you’ll also live it. With access to 650+ varsity athletes, your clinical experience starts early and scales with you.
In the first seven quarters, students complete foundational coursework in the biological sciences, anatomy, physiology, chiropractic philosophy, psychology and diagnostic sciences. Through classroom learning and hands-on labs, students begin developing the knowledge and clinical skills needed for chiropractic practice.
Students take a preparatory course designed to introduce the principles of Sports Chiropractic and prepare them for advanced coursework. This course builds on their foundation while focusing on performance-focused care, movement assessment and the role of Chiropractic in supporting athletic health and recovery.
- Intro to Sports Chiropractic + Performance Testing Lab
Learn the roles, organizations and expectations of sports chiropractors while performing sports performance tests used with Life U athletes. - Arthrokinematics, Neurology & Movement
Study joint mechanics, proprioception and neurological testing, and apply these skills during supervised on‑field experiences. - On‑Venue & Sideline Care
Train in acute evaluation, emergency/first‑aid response, taping, bracing and real‑time decision‑making with athletes. - Sports Practicum
Deliver supervised sideline care and complete a research component aimed at producing measurable, publishable outcomes.
Students complete a sports-focused clinical internship in professional practices across the U.S. and internationally. During this immersive experience, they work alongside practicing chiropractors and healthcare professionals, gaining hands-on exposure to athlete care, performance support and real-world clinical decision-making in a professional setting.
