Undergraduate Scholarships

APPLICATION AND ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL UNDERGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIPS

  • To apply for a Life University scholarship, please complete the application and submit through the Scholarship Portal (https://life.awardspring.com/) by the deadline listed. Some scholarships are non-renewable.
  • Applicant must be enrolled/enrolling in an Undergraduate Degree Program during the application cycle
  • Applicant must be in good standing with Life University
  • Preference will be given to those who demonstrate high academic achievement by cumulative GPA (minimum 3.0)
  • Required essay for all scholarships
  • 2025-2026 Application Cycle: March 1, 2025 – May 1, 2025.
  • All recipients are required to submit a scholarship consent form and a thank you letter to receive their disbursement. To express your appreciation please upload your thank you letter to your dashboard in the scholarship portal. Please complete the thank you letter within 5 days of your award notification.

25/26 Plantation Pipeline Scholarship

Amount Awarded: Two, $1,000 Scholarships
Deadline: August 22, 2025. Scholarship will be released week of September 1. Eligibility: GICA institutions offering a 2 year degree.

Program Criteria:

  • High school senior (college freshman in the fall)
  • Plans to pursue an Associate of Science degree
  • High school GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Demonstrated financial need

A high school transcript and letter of recommendation from a teacher or school staff member must accompany each form.

MSC Ann Overbeck Scholarship
Amount Awarded: $2,000 Scholarships
Deadline: August 22, 2025

Eligibility: Need based scholarship for Full-time rising sophomore, junior or senior attending GICA member institution. Each member institution will be asked to nominate one individual who best meets the scholarship criteria.

Program Criteria:

  • Rising sophomore, junior or senior
  • Student must demonstrate continued forward progress toward graduation
  • Demonstrated financial need
  • Family income of $35,000 or less
  • Transcript (with attached explanation from Financial Aid Officer of any semester that does not demonstrate continued forward progress toward graduation)

2025-26 MSC Cynthia Holt Scholarship

Amount Awarded: $2,000 Scholarships
Deadline: August 22, 2025 Eligibility: Full time rising junior or senior attending an eligible GICA member institution. Each member institution will be asked to nominate one individual who best meets the scholarship criteria. The winning student must be a Georgia resident, have a GPA of 3.0 or above, and have demonstrated financial need.

Program Criteria:

  • Rising sophomore, junior or senior
  • Georgia Resident
  • Grade point average of 3.0 or above
  • Demonstrated financial need

Application Must Include:

  • Transcript
  • Letter of recommendation from a faculty or staff member at the institution who can provide an overview of the student’s strengths and address how the student has contributed positively to the campus and/or the student’s community. 2025-26 William W. & Catherine M. Kelly Scholarship

Amount Awarded: $3,000 Scholarship
Deadline: August 22, 2025

Eligibility: Eligible GICA member institutions will be asked to nominate one individual who best meets the program criteria.

 Program Criteria:

  • A rising Senior
  • Preparing to teach in grades pk-12
  • have a concentration of studies in the broad area of the liberal arts
  • Financial need may be considered, but is not required

Application Must Include:

  • Copy of Transcript
  • Letter of Recommendation from Dean
  • Personal Statement from Nominee Outlining How and Why He/She chose to become a teacher in the humanities
  • Summary in the application form of extra-curricular activities, volunteerism and other community service

2025-26 Wayne Dempsey Scholarship

Amount Awarded: $1000 non-renewable scholarship
Deadline: August 22, 2025

Program Criteria:

  • Available to students from any GICA member institution
  • Preference given to a student who is majoring in music, minoring in music, or who has participated in music as a co-curricular activity
  • GPA of 3.0 or greater
  • Rising sophomore, junior, or senior. If applying from a GICA 2 year institution as a rising junior, student must be transferring to complete their education at a GICA 4 year institution
  • Demonstrated financial need
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and/or community service

Application Must Include:

  • Application
  • Transcript
  • Resume which details leadership experiences and community service
  • Personal statement (minimum of 250 words) that addresses your financial need for this scholarship as well as a description of how music has influenced your life.
  • Letter of recommendation from a faculty or staff member at the institution who can provide an overview of the student’s strengths and address how the student has contributed positively to the campus and/or the student’s community.

Additional Scholarship Opportunities Through Life University

 

RISE Scholarships:

  • Description: The Research, Innovation, Service and Education (“RISE”) scholarships provide opportunities for students to compete for scholarship funding while working under the mentorship of a Life U faculty or staff advisor on a research or evidence-based education, service, entrepreneurial or creative project that explores a specific question or social challenge that is aligned with the mission of Life University. Students can propose an original project or join the team of an existing project.
  • Amount: $2,250 applied toward tuition for the quarter following application submission and approval.  Scholarships are renewable.
  • Eligibility: Full-time equivalent students pursuing an undergraduate, graduate or professional degree in the College of Chiropractic (COC) or the College of Graduate and Undergraduate Studies (CGUS). Applicants must be in the 2nd quarter or above and have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
  • Deadline: Applications are due by Monday of Week 7 at 5:00 p.m.
