Congratulations to Anna-Marie Schmidt

The Dr. Sid E. Williams Center for Chiropractic Research wants to congratulate 14th quarter D.C. student Anna-Marie Schmidt on her acceptance to Palmer College of Chiropractic as a post-doctoral research scholar. Her official start date is January 7, 2019.

The post-doctoral research scholar is a full-time position and one-year appointment at the Palmer Center for Chiropractic Research with possible extension. Post-doctoral research scholars train under the direction and supervision of faculty mentors in preparation for academic or research careers. The position emphasizes scholarship and research training for Doctors of Chiropractic.

While at Life University, Anna has been a Research Track scholar and developed a line of biomechanics research that built on her previous experience as a musician with a master’s degree in piano performance. She presented a sequence of related projects in the performance postures and movements of pianists at the Georgia Music Teachers’ Association Conference, the National Conference on Keyboard Pedagogy and the Sherman Chiropractic College International Research and Philosophy Symposium, all in 2017; in 2018, additional research was presented at the Association of Chiropractic Colleges’ Research Agenda Conference and the American Society of Biomechanics annual meeting. The final stages of the project recorded movement variability of pianists with playing-related musculoskeletal pain before and after chiropractic care.

Anna, we fully anticipate that you will represent Life University well in your future endeavors. Congratulations!
