He has taught here for the last twenty years, and he also taught at Oxford College of Emory University for three years. Recently, he has been appointed as the Head Men & Women Swimming Coach at Life University as well. He has a Ph.D. from the University of Southern Mississippi in Human Performance where he also taught the Undergraduate’s program and served as the Anatomy Lab Assistant for three years. In the local community, Dr. Lim has been the Head Swimming Coach for the local Age Group program (Marietta Marlins, Inc.) which is affiliated with Georgia Swimming as well as USA Swimming for the last 24 years. Dr. Lim was named Senior Coach of the Year in 2006, and Age Group Coach of the Year in 2009 by Georgia Swimming, Inc. In addition, he received Awards of Excellence in 2007 from American Swimming Coaches Association. In his native country of Malaysia, he has been the Captains of the National Team in Swimming and Water Polo for many International Championships. He was named the Malaysian National Swimmer of the Year and Penang State High School Sports Boy in 1977. In the same year, he was the nominee for the Malaysian Sportsman of the Year Award. In academics, Dr. Lim has many publications and presentations locally and internationally. In the swimming arena, Dr. Lim has been appointed as the Assistant Coaching Staff, Accompany Coach and Guest Speaker for USA Swimming for the last decade. Most of his work in both areas is related to Human Performance. He currently teaches courses in Sports Nutrition, Neuromuscular Physiology, Aging & Exercise, Ergogenic Aids & Performance for the graduate; and Research Methods, and CPR/AED for the undergraduate. |
