Biography

Dr. Mas Rivera obtained her BS and PhD in Biology from the University of Puerto Rico, and her MA in Anthropology is from Arizona State University. She also holds a certificate in Human Sexuality from the University of Puerto Rico.
Her interdisciplinary academic preparation was guided by her interest in primate behavior, ecology and conservation. Her research was conducted at the Caribbean Primate Research Center (Puerto Rico) where she also held the position of resident scientist at Cayo Santiago. She currently has over 20 years of experience in higher education, teaching, in both the Natural Sciences and Social Sciences divisions.
She enjoys the outdoors, especially the beach and hiking, and loves animals.
