Dr. Thompson has served as an Adjunct Professor in the College of Graduate and Undergraduate Studies (CGUS) at Life University since 2010. Dr. Thompson is an accomplished and respected subject matter expert, facilitating business, marketing, leadership and diversity courses to traditional, non-traditional, undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral students in on-ground, online, and hybrid modalities.
Dr. Thompson earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) at Marquette University, a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) from Regis University, and a Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA) from Columbia Southern University. Dr. Thompson, successfully defended her dissertation titled A Gender Analysis of Work Ethic Behavior of Baby Boomers, Generation X and Millennials.
Known for her ability to connect with students, Dr. Thompson employs a unique teaching methodology called Authentic Assessments (AA). AA is a form of teaching in which students use text-book theory, and applies them to real-world, contemporary, assignments. AA challenges and inspires students to think outside the box to achieve academic excellence. In this type of interactive learning environment, students are asked to bring their unique life experiences to assignments which enables them to use first-hand knowledge in solving problems. This teaching method encourages ownership of the content, assists students to focus on individual and group solutions that places them on a trajectory of success prepared to triumph on the global stage. This creates rewarding research projects that extends beyond the classroom.

Dr. Thompson provides the foundation for a quality learning experience by ensuring collaborations with faculty, students, administration, and external stakeholders. Dr. Thompson’s mission is to create an environment of inclusion where every voice is valuable, collectively, we learn from each other, and students depart the classroom wiser than when they entered.
